You just EXPERIENCED the loss of a loved one.

Are you finding it hard to cope with your grief, trying to navigate through this new chapter of your life? The ache for your loved one is profound, leaving you uncertain about how to move forward. In your quest for comfort and understanding, you might be turning to the internet for guidance. Instead of endlessly scrolling, let’s take a moment to process these feelings together, step by step, as we seek healing, hope, and wholeness. I lost my mom as a teenager and my dad in adulthood—two distinct experiences, each with its own unique relationship.

what’s happening to me?

Grief impacts every part of us. I take a holistic approach to helping clients navigate the impacts of grief. We will look at what has changed, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually since your loss. We’ll explore what you’re using and doing to cope with the loss and then collaborate on healthy tools to bring you support as we start to process the loss. Grief therapy isn’t just for people that had positive relationships with the loved one, it’s also for people who had challenging relationships.

emotionally

anger, anxiety, restlessness, loneliness, guilt, fear, hopeless, sad, shock, numb, denial

physically

fatigue, decrease or increase in appetite, increase or decrease in weight, trouble falling and staying asleep

mentally

unable to focus, unable to think ahead, process slower than usual, poor memory, unable to complete tasks

Unfortunately there are no stages in grief

Many people think there are stages to grief or a checklist that they have to work through and then they’re done with the heartache! I hate to be the barrier of bad news, but grief isn’t linear, it’s more like a roller coaster. There is hope though. The constant pain you feel won’t be as sharp, it’ll change and feel/look different over time.
